Wiliam L. Butler Obituary
WILLIAM L. BUTLER was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on 2/22/20 to Charlie and Stella (Betts) Butler. He received his early education in the state of Louisiana. Upon completion of his honorable service in the Army, William planted his roots in California and attended West Coast University completing its curriculum for and obtaining a certificate in electronics. Finally, settling in Riverside, he met and married Elizabeth Randle, their marriage shared for over five decades. He planned and built his home where he resided until his passing. Mr. Butler was employed as an Electrician at Norton Air Force Base retiring after more than thirty dedicated years. His numerous affiliations included Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, NAACP, Casa Blanca Home of Neighborly Service, Masonic Lodge, Paramount Golf Club, Inland Empire Golf Club (serving as President), and Western States Golf Association (serving as Area Vice-President). Known to many as Bill and lovingly referred to as "Papa" by his family he spent his leisure time on the golf course. He was an avid golf player obtaining countless awards and trophies. Preceding him in death is his beloved wife Elizabeth, sisters Olivia Brasley, Irene Butler, and brothers Ernest Butler, Robert Butler, Frank Butler, and Jack Butler. He leaves to cherish his memory a sister Beatrice Wheeler and a brother George Butler (Zoda); one daughter, Betty Pharr (Lee Kerr); a grandson Eddie White (Kathy); four great-grandchildren Marie Pierson (DeShaun), Melissa Claunch (Ryan), Brett White and Frank Pappano, Jr. (Michelle); nine great-great grandchildren, Eishale Pierson, Deshawna, William, and Rayshaun Pierson, Jayden, Anissa and Nehemiah Claunch and Christian and Haley Pappano; three great-great-great grandchildren, William Jr., and Nate Pierson and Stevie Curry and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbors. Visitation: Tuesday, April 21, 4-8pm; Celebration of Life on Wednesday, April 22, 11:30am, both at Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary in Riverside, CA. Graveside service: Wednesday, April 22, 1:30pm at Riverside National Cemetery.
