WILLIAM BIRD The patriarch of the Bird family, William Bird, has passed. He met his maker on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 5:30pm, at the age of 81, surrounded by his wonderful family. Bill Bird, a native son of San Bernardino, spent the majority of his life with his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Beverly Eytcheson Bird, his wife of 64 years. He was the president of Bird Refrigeration, the 80-year-old family owned business, from which he retired in May 2013. He also served on many business and community boards. He especially enjoyed working with Sister Cities Mexicali/Villa Hermosa. His legacy continues through his four daughters: Kathleen Bird Rainbolt (William), Karen Bird Miller (William), Kimberly Bird Heredia, and Kelly Bird Ullery (Greg) and his eight grandchildren: William Rainbolt (Tracy), Ryan Rainbolt (Desiree), Billy Miller (Amy), Jill Miller Harold (Josh), Kristine Miller Wittenborn (Matt), Gregory Ullery, Taylor Bird Ullery Strand (Matt), Christian Heredia, and 11 precious great grandchildren. Each and every family member claims to be his favorite!!! He also has a sister, Betty Jean Bird Carter, and two brothers, Robert Bird and Fred Bird. The memorial service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 10:30am at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel located at 1299 E. Highland Avenue San Bernardino, Ca 92404. Preceding the service, a Riderless Horse will be escorted down Highland Avenue to the chapel. To view the arrival, please arrive at the chapel parking lot by 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations can be made to Lighthouse for the Blind at www.ielighthousefortheblind.org Bobbitt Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
