William (Bill) Blanchard Obituary
WILLIAM (BILL) BLANCHARD 86, of Hemet, California passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at his home. He was born on Thursday, August 12, 1926 in Hartford, Conn. to Louis and Louise (Theroux) Blanchard. During World War II he served as a radio operator on the flight crew for General Lucius Clay. After the war he used his G.I. Bill to attend the University of Miami, earning a law degree. While there, he met and married Florence Mortensen, from Santa Monica, CA. They and their 3 children, Bill E., Laurie and Cherie moved to CA in 1956, where their fourth child, Jamie was born, and Bill practiced law for 30+ years and his wife taught kindergarten for 32 years, while living in Agoura, CA. After retiring, they lived in Maui for 15 months, then settled in Hemet in 2001. They enjoyed traveling and reading, until Bill developed vascular dementia in 2006. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister and one brother. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Florence, his brother, Dick Blanchard, 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. We will miss his sense of humor, and his loving kindness, but know he is having a good rest Sleep in peace, Bill, we love you.
