William Franklin "Bill" Terry Obituary
WILLIAM FRANKLIN TERRY "BILL" Age 88, passed away at home on March 16, 2015 from complications associated with Parkinson's Disease. Bill was born on January 25, 1927 in St. Maries. ID and had been a Riverside, CA resident for 46 years. He proudly service in the U.S. Army and was a World War II veteran, honorably discharged. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA), and Juris Doctorate (JD). He was widowed, married to Myrtle M. Terry for 64 years. He was employed by Ohio Casualty Insurance Company. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Rain Cross Squares, Oregon State Bar Association, and Ohio Casualty Retirees Association. He was a world traveler, photographer, pilot, golfer, patron of music and the arts. Bill was a quiet man who lived for his family. When not traveling or golfing, he would look forward to spending time with numerous friends or his sons and their families, and of course, his beloved wife Myrtle. Bill never spoke ill of others, always preferring to seek the best out of every person he met. His professional life was varied having joined a law firm in Portland, Oregon, and then establishing a partnership with Ben Madison in eastern Oregon as an independent claims adjuster. Bill & Myrtle dreamed of living in sunny Southern California, so he went ahead of his family and found employment with Ohio Casualty, bought a house and then moved his wife and sons to Riverside, California. The months of separation during this time weighed heavily on all of the family, but life in Riverside proved to be everything he and Myrtle were looking for; an escape from cold, wet winters, proximity to Los Angeles / Orange County and the arts, and numerous golf courses to conquer. World travel was another passion which he and his wife of 64 years thoroughly enjoyed, visiting many countries in several continents and most of the United States. Beloved husband to Myrtle M. Terry (deceased). Loving father to Mark, Mike and Mitchell. Devoted grandfather to Clark, William and Matthew. Adoring great-grandfather to Clark and Cici. Honorary grandfather to the Gutierrez family. Dependable friend to many throughout Southern California. Graveside service: Inurnment at Riverside National Cemetery, Friday, July 17, 2015, 2:15 PM. Bill & Myrtle's ashes will be placed together forever at Riverside National Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Preston & Simons Mortuary in Riverside, CA
