DR. WILLIAM J. RYAN CAPT. MC USNR RET Born January 30, 1933 in Vandalia, MO to Lora Verdie McBride Ryan and John Ryan. Died August 24, 2016 in Riverside, CA. Survived by beloved wife, Sandra L. Ryan; daughters, Dr. Susan E. Mackintosh (Randy) and Lori Ann Weber (Allan Joseph); seven grandchildren, Heather Mackintosh-Williams, Ryan Mackintosh, Whitney LaFon, Brittany Scollard, Erin Voogt, Jordan Weber and Morgan Weber; 8 beautiful great-grandchildren and brother Paul Ryan. He graduated from Vandalia HS in 1950, Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX in 1957 and Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 1962. He served during the Korean Conflict with the United States Marine Corps from 1950-1953. Dr. Ryan became a Navy physician in 1967 during the Vietnam War. He became a Kaiser physician in November of 1974 and retired in 1995. He finished his military career as a reservist and was recalled to Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 1990. He then worked at UCR as a physician at the Student Health Center until his retirement in 2007. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 31, from 6PM to 8PM at Miller-Jones Mortuary, 23618 Sunnymead Blvd., Moreno Valley. Memorial service will be Thursday, September 1, at 10AM at Christ Community Church, 13300 Indian Street, Moreno Valley followed by the burial at Riverside National Cemetery at 11:45 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent in his memory to the Redlands Animal Shelter, 504 Kansas St., Redlands, CA 92373 or to the Redlands Friends of Shelter Animals (REDFOSA) at the same address or to the .
