William Kelman Wightman Obituary
WILLIAM KELMAN WIGHTMAN September 7, 1934- May 30, 2016 Bill was a Corona native son who loved his home town. Always a hard worker, he began delivering the Press-Enterprise and the Independent at about eleven years old. From there he moved to his love of motorcycles and loves riding the Greenhorn 500 miles in 2 days in the deserts and trials riding. Then his passion for 10 years was teaching himself to do figure skating using speed skates on ice where he met his wife of 51 years, Ann. After many years of working with Elmer Bates in the gas station he decided to become a carpenter and after learning to build houses from the ground up, specialized in door hanging and got a patent on a template he invented for his trade and sold all over the U.S. Bill's greatest joy in life was the birth of his daughter Kristy who later married Mario Cruz and had two beautiful daughters, Sedona and Skyla Cruz. Bill took up rollerblading in his retirement and managed to skate 13 miles a week after his stroke in 2001. Bill also enjoyed 14 years of sobriety and a lot of great cruises until the challenges of end stage Parkinson's took over. He fought valiantly to the end for his love of life. Services will be held at Thomas Miller Mortuary on Friday, June 10th at 2PM.
