William Manson Worrell III Obituary
WILLIAM MANSON WORRELL III On Memorial Day, May, 30, 2016, William Manson Worrell III (Bill) passed away suddenly of natural causes in Corona, California. Bill was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and moved with his family to Corona in 1951. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed at the Red Rock Arsenal in New Mexico and the Presidio in San Francisco toward the end of his service. He later obtained his Bachelor's Degree with a focus on Accounting from California State University, Fullerton in 1979 and went on to become a Certified Public Accountant and worked as a tax preparer in his last years. Bill enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, golfing, and playing pool in tournaments around Southern California. He was fond of baseball and followed the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and he spent his spare time as an umpire for adult baseball leagues in Riverside and Orange Counties. Bill was the rock of our family and we are at a great loss without his support, leadership, kindness, generosity and love. He had a fantastic sense of humor which was elevated by his intellectual and analytical mind, and he was easily able to bring laughter to all in his company. He was a father, a grandfather, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend, and a tender caregiver to his mother when she became ill and was placed on hospice in her last days. Bill is survived by two daughters Tracy LaNae and Melissa Worrell; daughter-in-law Sha LaNae, and 4 grandchildren: Manny Worrell, Benjamin Chavez, Giovanni LaNae and Izabella LaNae. He was the eldest son and the first of five Worrell siblings to pass. Bill is also survived by his sister Sue Houchen; brother Jack Worrell; sister Barbara Keller; brother Kevin Worrell, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William Manson Worrell II (Jr.) who passed in 1991, and Doris Edna Worrell who passed in 2011. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, California 92518, immediately followed by an informal wake to celebrate Bill's life from 3:00 - 10:00 p.m. This open gathering will be held at the home of his daughter, Tracy LaNae, located at 16083 Regency Ranch Road, Riverside, California 92504. EVERYONE is invited and welcome to join us - we hope that all family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances will be able to attend. Bill loved Mexican food and in his memory, we will serve tacos, beans, rice, and refreshments until we run out. A second gathering will be held at Marie Callender's Restaurant, 160 E. Rincon St., Corona, California on June 23, 2016, from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend both events.
