William T. E. Wingo Jr. Obituary
WILLIAM T. E. WINGO, JR. Major, USAF Retired William Wingo, 87, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, April 9, 2016. William was born to William T. Wingo, Sr. and Naomi (Martin) Wingo, in New York, New York, July 13, 1928. He was raised in Asbury Park, New Jersey, where he attended and graduated from Neptune High School. William joined the U.S. Army in 1948 and served four years. He continued his military career in the United States Air Force and served in Germany, Korea, Japan, Guam, Vietnam and many other duty stations throughout the world. He was an Air Evacuation Medic and specialized in Hospital Administration until his retirement in 1974 reaching the rank of Major. After his retirement from the military, he worked as a Warehouse Shopkeeper for the Metropolitan Water District at Lake Skinner. William was a member of Cathedral of Praise Church, the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge Throughout his military career, he earned numerous medals and awards. During this time, he met and married his beloved, Ethel. During their 52 years of marriage, they were blessed with two children: Tracie Yvonne Wingo and Terence Eugene Wingo. He is survived by his loving grandchildren, Olivia, Chelsia and Langston Janise. Siblings, Gertrude Willis, Marie Weeks, Betty Smalls, Leroy Wingo, and Richard Wingo, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. A special thank you to Inland Valley Hospice staff and the dedicated staff at Integrated Care Communities, Moreno Valley. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2016, 11:15 at Riverside National Cemetery.
