Yolanda M. Sentner Obituary
YOLANDA (Yoli) SENTNER, of Riverside, CA, passed away on April 9, 2014, in Corona, CA. Viewing to be held at Pierce Brothers - Crestlawn Mortuary, in Riverside, on April 15, 2014, from 11:30am to 3:30pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Mel Roman Catholic Church, 4140 Corona Ave, Norco, CA on April 16 at 12:30pm. Burial service will follow Funeral Services at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park, in the Holy Cross section. Yoli was born in Bogotá, Colombia and immigrated to the United States in 1961. It was that same year that she met her husband Chris Sr. and had four children. After Chris's passing, Yoli went to work as a sales associate for JCPenney. She retired after 10 years and spent her retirement years with her partner Richard Catching. Yoli was active in many clubs throughout her life, including the Soroptimist Club, YMCA, Riverside Art Museum and Young at Heart Photography. She loved to travel taking pictures all around the world. Yoli was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease) in July 2011. She retained her passion for life throughout her illness and was a strong independent woman to the very last. Though Yoli lost her battle with ALS, she never let it take her spirit or dignity. Yoli had the love and support of her family, friends, caretakers and the ALS foundation throughout the progression of her disease. Yoli is preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Emma Benavides, and her husband Chris Sentner Sr. Yoli is survived and will be missed by her sisters Elizabeth and Clara; her brother Alvaro and his wife Elvira; her partner of 20 years Richard; two daughters Marion and Tina; two sons, Christopher and Pete; seven grandchildren, Brooke, Rachelle, Travis, Kasey, Alec, Keegan, Danielle; and four great grandchildren, Addison, Connor, Carter and Ellie.
