To Lindy, Kathy, Cindy and Frank:
May Cora always be treasured in our hearts and our minds. May she also be remembered as UCR's Athletics' "First Lady".
All of us who had the privilege and honor to know her, join you in this time of mourning.

It seems such a short time ago--that February '54 when we became acquainted in the gym at UCR. Through the years our paths crossed in so many ways: Cora and Sue working together at the bookstore--Lindy as sponsor of Cal Club with Pete--and so many other occasions that we were together. How wonderful would this world be with more Coras? Her infectious smile and her heart open to everyone she touched.
Our hearts go out to Lindy and her family. We have all been blessed to have known such a very special lady.

What a dear special lady. Dedicated to many endeavors, but I remember her from Job's Daughters and being Kathy's mother. May you find comfort in your memories. Bless you all.

To "Lindy" and family:
It is with sadness I learned of Cora's passing. She left an indelible mark on all of us. My first meeting with her was the first night I started as UCR's Sports Information Director/Development in 1980. She and Lindy invited me to their home for dinner to welcome me to the UCR family. She couldn't have been more kind or gracious. During the remainder of my time at UCR, I would often see her at many events cheering on the Highlanders.
But what really struck me was the devotion and love she and Lindy shared for each other. They demonstrated what the true meaning of marriage vows meant. I've never known a couple who were together for so long and understood how to make a marriage work.
Her illness is one I know all too much about as my mother has suffered from it for 8 years. It is an illness that you don't select....it selects you. And in doing so, it can bring families even closer together and be there for the patient, and in some cases, drive them apart.
Though I live more than 2,000 miles away, I had the privilege of seeing Cora twice in the past five years. Once, when I returned to Riverside for the first time in over 20 years and Cora, Lindy and I went to lunch at their club. What a great time we had recalling some of our UCR memories and times we shared. The final time was when I helped put together a Reunion for our athletic staff from the early 80's. Jack and Margie Smitheran were kind enough to pick up Cora and Lindy. To see so many former co-workers get together in one place after 28 years was one of the best memories I'll ever have. And Cora had a great time that day just watching and listening to all the stories told and seeing so many familiar faces.
To Lindy and the family (Kathy, Franklin and Cindy) may I extend my deepest condolences. And let me join with many others in thanking you for sharing Cora with us.
At the close of the hit film, "It's a Wonderful Life", a bell rings and one of the Bailey children says, " everytime a bell rings, an angel gets their wings". Cora Lindeburg has now earned her wings!
