Dolores Reynolds Zweig-Lambert

1926 - 2014

DOLORES REYNOLDS ZWEIG-LAMBERT Age 88, died peacefully on August 6, 2014 at her home in Riverside, CA. Dolores was born April 25, 1926, in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of John and Twila Reynolds. Dolores was married to Dr. Robert M. Zweig for 55 years. They moved from Philadelphia to Riverside in 1953 after Bob served his country in WWII. While Bob attended medical school and residency, Dolores worked as a secretary and assistant to the president of a nearby university and typed term papers for other students. In addition to raising their five children, Dolores supported Bob in all of his medical and business endeavors. Together they established a successful family medical practice, built Parkview Memorial Hospital with four other physicians/ business partners, researched and developed alternate forms of auto fuel including propane and hydrogen, pioneered hydrogen power for autos and busses in Riverside County as evidenced by the Riverside Fueling Station on Lincoln Street, and established a scholarship at UCR. She loved camping, cooking, gardening, playing bridge, board games, crossword puzzles, adventure, all of her pets, and traveling. Dolores was deeply involved in the Riverside community, serving in the Riverside Assistance League, Wesley Methodist Church, Friends of Victoria Avenue, Mission Inn, Meals on Wheels, and the Riverside Symphony. She had many friends and cherished them all. She provided a warm, welcoming, and comfortable home for her family and their many friends. "The more the merrier" was only one of her mottos. She became famous (or infamous) for her annual rum slush pool parties, a once a year bash for her normally tea-totaling friends. She loved a good party and planned and provided the time and place for many over the years. She had a quick sense of humor, loved a good joke, laughed often, and was a good sport. Following the death of Robert in 2002, Dolores married Jack Lambert. Dolores is survived by her husband, Jack Lambert; two brothers Jack Reynolds (Jackie) and Jim Reynolds (Joan); her five children Robert L. Zweig (Shirley), Tracy Zweig Pinnella (Joe), Peter R. Zweig (Heidi), Wendy Zweig Micklus (Lynn), and David J. Zweig (Ann); five wonderful grandchildren and one princess of a great-granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation The Robert M.
