Donald Dormady Obituary

Donald "Don" M. Dormady of Kenai, Alaska passed away March 4th, 2021, at the age of 63 due to complications from diabetes.

Don was born April 13th, 1957 in California; he was the first-born child to, Donald and Anna Dormady. As a result of being in a military family, Don moved 19 times in 18 years while growing up. He moved to Choteau, MT his Junior year of high school where he held the record for 100 pins in wrestling and was also given the nickname "Tiny." Don married Janet Nelson on August 31st, 1984 in Cut Bank, Montana. In 1989, the family moved to Kenai Alaska with Haliburton and later worked for Schlumberger. He continued to show his passion for sports with his own children. There are numerous memories of Don's voice booming in the stands and gyms which resulted in him being called Coach or Superfan. He was also an amazing dancer and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. Despite all the hardships he faced throughout the years he maintained a very optimistic attitude and continued to spread humor. He left a lasting impact on those who knew him. Don truly cherished all of his friends and family.

Don is survived by his wife, Janet Dormady; his children, Jamie Bawden, Jim (Anne) Dormady, Ken Dormady, Michael (Kate) Dormady, Donny (Alysha) Dormady, and David Dormady; his grandchildren, Mercedes, Hannah, Alice, Riley, Jasper, Maddy, Jake, Ellie, and Eden; his siblings Pearl (Steve) Clark, Roy (Shannon) Dormady, Leonard Dormady, and Tina Jones; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

He is proceeded in death by his father and mother Donald and Anna Dormady.

My condolences to the family. I knew Mr. Dormady from his advocacy and support for his kids throughout their time in school. If his kids had a game or event, he was right there cheering them on. RIP Mr. Dormady

I send my deepest condolences to the Don Dormandy Family. I worked with Don at Haliburton in Cut Bank, MT. I always appreciated his work ethic, humor, and joy of life. Last time we met was in the Salt Lake City Airport. Both rushed for plane departures we only got to briefly chat. Seemed he really had found a permanent home there in Alaska. A very good man I am grateful he was a part of my life. May your God Bless You!
With Heartfelt Love,
