Tina Renee Hensley (Knight) 51 of Soldotna, Alaska was born on March 28, 1969 in Sanford, North Carolina.

Tina went home to glory with the Lord on February 12, 2021 after a brief but valiant battle with colon cancer in Goodyear, Arizona. Tina advocated for early examinations to friends and strangers. She wanted others to receive early diagnoses for the cancer she herself did not discover soon enough.

Tina was raised in Nikiski, Alaska and graduated from Kenai Central High School in 1987. After graduating high school, she moved to Anchorage, Alaska, moving to Henderson, Nevada a few years later. In 2007, Tina moved back to Alaska and met the love of her life, marrying Michael Hensley in August of 2008.

The following year she and Mike surrendered their lives to Christ, they served him faithfully in church, volunteering their time and talents of ministering at the Pregnancy Care Center in Kenai. Tina took great pride in working for this organization, expressing her love for God through her work. Tina also worked at the Peninsula Allergy and Asthma clinic for 4 years as a medical assistant. She enjoyed cultivating valuable relationships with coworkers and clients.

Tina had a gentle and quiet spirit, with a heart for reaching out to people in need. More than anything her desire was to share her redemption story with others and to lead them to accept the gift of salvation through our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.

Tina had many friends that loved and cared for her. She received much encouragement and prayers from around the globe, it was truly inspiring. Tina's family is eternally grateful and wants to thank every person who sent cards, hosted her in their homes, offered rides, sent flowers, sent gifts, traveled to keep her company during treatments, and provided food.

Tina was very active and enjoyed biking, running, hiking, and walking on the beach hunting for agates. Before her diagnosis she was an avid runner and had participated in several marathons around the Kenai and Soldotna area. She was affectionately known by her family and friends as "little but fierce."

Tina was a loving and caring mother, daughter, wife, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed living in the hearts of many forever.

Tina is survived by her husband, Michael Hensley. Parents, Michael and Patricia Knight. Sister, Penny Power (David). Daughters, Tia Troutmon (Theo), and Tyla Young. Tina has been my best friend since the moment we met in high school. Throughout her life, she listened, loved, cared, shared herself in the most positive manner. I can not remember a day without her somehow my life. My love for her and her beautiful family will forever grow. May God give everyone peace, because without her on Earth each day is difficult. I have no doubt she is sending love to everyone from Heaven. Hugs to Tia and Tyla, amazing girls! Hugs to Penny, awesome sister! Hugs to Mike, the hubby she loved so dearly!
