Wesley Dustin Perkins, 46, of Kenai, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Owasso, Oklahoma.

A cremation service was held at Floral Haven funeral home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on April 25. Since then, his ashes have been returned home to Alaska with his wife Wendy Perkins

Wes was born Jan. 16, 1972 in Lubbock, Texas to Cheryl Perkins and Neal Davis. He attended Broken Arrow High School.

Wes' heart was bigger than most, he loved the Lord and he dedicated his life to loving and helping people. In his 20s, he worked as a firefighter at Sherman Fire Department in Sherman, Texas. Later, he served as a Paramedic Engineer and Fire Marshal for Central Emergency Services in Soldotna, from 2003-2018. More than anything, Wes enjoyed life with his family and friends. The organizations he volunteered with are countless, as are the people that love him. His humor brought so much laughter and his smile was nothing but contagious.

He married the woman he adored, Wendy Perkins, on Sept. 29, 2014, in Frisco, Texas. They lived in their home in Kenai and had planned to move to Oklahoma at the end of April.

Wes is survived by his beloved wife, Wendy Perkins of Kenai; daughters, Jessica Fry and Haiden Perkins, and son, Brodi Perkins of Dallas, Texas; step-children, Morgan McKenzie, Madison Dolifka, Reed Reser, and Elias McConnell, along with six grandchildren and an unborn grandson of Soldotna; his grandmother; his Mama Wes, Peggy Perkins of Bells, Texas; his mother, Cheryl Perkins and brothers, Austin McQueary and Ryan McQueary of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his brothers, Tim Davis, Lin Davis, and David Davis of Lubbock, Texas, and sister Kara Fix of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Wesley A. Perkins; his father, Neal Davis; and step-father, Bill McQueary.

If there is anything to say about Wes, it's that he exuded love; for his wife, for his children and grandchildren, for his puppy, Lola, for his friends and family, he loved with a love that could only be God-given. No one left Wes not smiling, and now, in God's presence, he's smiling for eternity.

Until we see you again, rest high on that mountain.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Birch Ridge Community Church, 33325 Echo Lake Road, Soldotna, AK 99669.
