Spencer L. Anderson, 80, of Mechanicsburg Pa, died peacefully on December 30, 2017 at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital. He was born on December 17, 1937 in York Pa. He was a son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Anderson.
Spencer graduated from Cumberland Valley High School in 1955 where he was the first student to receive a diploma in the school's history. He attended Penn State University where he was a member of the Pershing rifle team. He then moved on to serve in the Army.
Spencer retired from the former New Cumberland Army Depot after 34 years of service where he was a computer systems analyst.
Spencer enjoyed hunting fishing, golfing and working in his yard. His biggest passion was saved for Penn State Football. He was a season ticket holder for 50 years and travelled to all the away games for over 20 years.
Spencer is survived by his loving wife, Maureen of 54 years; a son, Steven Anderson and wife Jennifer of Etters, PA; two granddaughters, Tia Anderson of Etters, PA and Darian Anderson of North Bergen, New Jersey and a grandson, Dylan Quatmann of Bristol, Rhode Island.
Private services were held for the family.
