Warren Leroy Dansby
1922 - 2013
Warren Dansby died July 15, 2013 in Pensacola, FL with family by his side. He was born March 12, 1922 in Pensacola, FL to George and Mignon Dansby. He was one of six children; he had 3 brothers and two sisters.
Warren attended Pensacola High School. He worked for a short time at the Naval Air Station before joining the army in November 1942. He worked as a medic in the army before being honorably discharged in December 1945 and he retired from the civil service in 1977. Warren was married to Allene Thompson Dansby November 24, 1947 and together they had three wonderful children. Following Allene's death, he then married Velma Montellaro Dansby.
Mr. Dansby is preceded in death by his parents; George and Mignon Dansby, siblings; George, Edwin, Donald, Sue and Mignon; and daughter Shirley Holland. He is survived by his children: son, Doug (Marie) Dansby; and daughter, Bonnie Dansby. He is also survived by 3 granddaughters: Tracey (Jon) Cornille; Tammy (Guy) Dupree; Donna Smith; 2 grandsons: Jason (Donna) Dansby and Aaron (Sarah) Geri; and 8 great grandchildren: Andrew, Abbey, Nick, Haleigh, Jayda, Drew, Brooke, and Thomas.
Warren was a lifetime member of the Seventh Day Adventist church. He enjoyed participating in camp meeting and Bible study. Warren was an avid walker and enjoyed time on the beach. He loved sharing time with his family. Warren was a kind, gentle man with an independent spirit. He is very loved and is missed by us all.
A private memorial service will be held at a later time. Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.

I just returned back to civilization after sailing and learned of the passing of Doug's father. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all the other family members.

Doug and Marie, Elaine and I are so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. I did not know him but, based on how you, Doug' turned out, he must have been a might fine man. May the Lord lift your spirits and show you reasons to rejoice even during these dark times.

So sad to read about Warren's passing and the last surviving member of the Dansby family. I take comfort knowing he now joins his daughter Shirley and my sister Mignon. My condolences from his brother George's family.
