Pensacola - Annie Louise Fravel, 80, of Pensacola died peacefully at home on August 8, 2018.

She was a kind and gentle lady who was born on March 5, 1938 in Mobile, AL. After graduating from Alabama A&M University with a degree in Home Economics she taught the subject for 39 years to thousands of high school students in both Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL, before retiring in 2000.

For the last 40-years her church home has been First United Methodist where she sang in the choir and participated in the handbell choir. She was known for her caring spirit and always offering a warm smile to everyone she met. Her creativity was exhibited in her many crafts, personal style, and design. In her later years she enjoyed traveling and music.

She is preceded into death by her adopted parents Truman and Annie Cooper, her mother Lillie Mae Monterio and her brothers Ronny and Michael Monterio. She is survived by her loving husband John Fravel; siblings Dennis Monterio (Carolyn), Willie Monterio (Cathy) Sandra Stewart (Isaac) and Cheryl Davis; two daughters, Donna Banks (Oliver) and Veronica Morrissette (Vince); and granddaughters Olivia and Rebekah Banks.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 13, 2018 at First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift in Ann's memory to the Living Trust of First United Methodist Church 6 East Wright Street, Pensacola, FL 32501.
