Great memories of Jimmy in high school in Rockford, IL. May he rest in peace.

Dr. Renick was President of NC A&T when I was a student there. I really hated when he left the University. I thought a lot of him as a person because he was very personable and down to earth. My prayers are with you and your family today and always.

Jimmy will always be remembered as a good, solid friend to our family. Certainly he helped so many in his stellar career, that is a known fact and we were proud of his soaring accomplishments, but for our family Jimmy was the ever smiling friend, full of laughter and joy whenever he came around to visit! A wonderful human being that genuinely cared about others. We will love him forever! Chancellor Renick was a great Chancellor at A&T. He had vision, charisma, charm, smartness, guts, toughness and love for the students and campus. My prayers and thoughts are with his family at this time.

I was employed at NC A&T State University and beginning my journey as a non-traditional student when Chancellor Renick took the helm. From my first interaction with him I saw his love and concern for students. I also noticed the positive impact he had on the students, especially the males. Though he's physically no longer with us, his presence will forever be felt on our campus. Rest Easy Sir, your work was not in vain. Prayers for his family.

Chancellor Renick served as our leader at the University of Michigan and he was a tremendous leader. I was a part of a group of students who were involved in a DC internship program. The Chancellor took the time to meet with our group and make sure we were on a successful path for our future. He was as a strategic leader, who valued people and truly made an impact and a difference for students and the University. So grateful to have known him. Praying for God’s love and peace to be with the family.
