Lee Ollie Wilburn

Pensacola - Lee O. Wilburn passed away on June 9, 2018. He was born August 21, 1942, to Clifford E. and Louell Hanks Wilburn, of Bratt, Florida. Lee grew up in Bratt and graduated from Pensacola High School.

After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and served his country while stationed in Germany. After his service ended, Lee returned to Pensacola and worked in construction but found his true calling as a commercial fisherman.

Lee's passion was chasing mullet and mackerel on the waterways of Pensacola and Mobile. His fellow fishermen knew him as a hardworking friend always willing to help someone in need.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jimmy H. Wilburn. He is survived by his son Josh McDaniel, wife Deborah Kennard, and grandkids Elijah and Maya McDaniel of Grand Junction, CO; son Tommy Wilburn; brother Edward W. and wife Mary of Charlotte, NC; brother Fred A. and wife Barbara of Bossier City, LA; and brother Paul R. Wilburn of Pensacola, FL.

The family would also like to recognize his caregiver and friend Phyllis McDaniel.

Memorial contributions can be made to Covenant Hospice Care.

Services will be held at Fisherman's Life Baptist Church in Bon Secour, AL on June 15 at 11 a.m. Family should arrive at 9:30, friends at 10 a.m. Lee will be buried in Godwin Cemetery in Bratt, FL. No graveside service.
