Lloyd Blackmon, age 71 passed away April 25, 2014.

Lloyd was a native of Pensacola, and was a member of the 1957 Babe Ruth League World Champions. He coached for many years at Brent Dixie Youth Baseball Park. He served his country during Viet Nam while in the Marines. He retired from Monsanto after 38 years.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, coach, mentor and friend who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by wife, Nancy Goldsby Blackmon; children, Maresha Foster, Kelly Blackmon (Tina), Krystal Blackmon-Rhodes (John); grandchildren, Courtney, Laramie (Catherine), and Shane Foster, Christin Blackmon, Kaytlin Rhodes, Kindall Blackmon, John-Daniel Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Ava and Todd Foster; brothers, Floyd (Valerie) and James Thomas (Leslie); sisters, Loretta Vitt (Bill), Diane Marshall (Gary); brother in laws, Harold Goldsby, W. C. Scott, Marvin (Donna) Goldsby; sister in laws, Emma Goldsby, Rita Eldridge, Ernie Peterson, Bobi Faircloth (Jeris), Elaine Carroll (Ron), and numerous nieces, and nephews.

The memorial will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church, 1100 Michigan Ave. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Visitation will be at 6 PM and service will start at 7 PM. A ceremony will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at 10:15 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014
