William Glenn "Billy" Thompson Obituary
William "Billy" Glenn Thompson

Pensacola - On August 07th, William "Billy" Glenn Thompson lost his battle with cancer, but because of God's grace and love he gained eternity in Heaven with his Lord and Savior.

Billy was born on July 10, 1959 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Bill and Carole Thompson. He lived in Pensacola from the time he was about 5 years old. Billy grew up in First Baptist Church and accepted Christ as his savior when he was nine years old.

Billy graduated from the Liberal Arts Academy, where he played on the school baseball team. Through the years, from the time he was about age 8, he played on numerous baseball teams throughout the city.

In addition to baseball, Billy enjoyed surfing and going to the beach. His favorite sport was fishing and he enjoyed many hours fishing with family and friends over the years. Billy met the love of his life, Teresa Flanagan Thompson in high school and they remained completely devoted to each other for 42 years.

Billy leaves a large family who loved him dearly. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Teresa Flanagan Thompson; parents, Bill and Carole Thompson; siblings, Lisa Lowery (Gregg), Bobby Thompson (Bev) and Jimmy Thompson (Shawn); nieces, Lauren Rich (James), Andi Taylor (Zac), Shilo Godwin (Chad) and Abbie Thompson; nephews, Hank Thompson and Jimmy Thompson; mother-in-law, Betty Flanagan; sisters-in-law, Debbie Bremser (John) and Phoebe Flanagan; and many aunts and cousins.

Billy started in the grocery business as a bag boy while still in high school. He ended his career as co-manager of the Walmart store in Gulf Breeze. His co-workers at this store were his extended family. Our family thanks them for the concern, kindness and love they showed him during the past 8 months. You folks brought many smiles to his face during this difficult time, and we will be eternally grateful.

A Celebration of Billy's life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, August 11, 2018 in Pleitz Chapel of First Baptist Church with Rev. Ross Lankford officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 1:30 p.m. until service time.
