John W. Anderson


John W. Anderson passed away on June 26, 2013 in a motorcycle accident in Greeley, Colorado. He entered this world on July 22, 1960 to Warren A. Anderson (deceased) and Margaret B. Anderson in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife Paula Shume Anderson, son John M. Anderson, his two grandsons Evan and Liam and his beloved chocolate lab Dakota.

He served in the United States Air Force for twenty-three years. Since his retirement from the USAF in 2005 John has worked at NAS Pensacola as a safety, health, and occupational specialist. He obtained a Bachelor's of science in history from The University of West Florida in 2005.

John was a devoted Husband, Father, Son, Papa and Friend. He enjoyed riding his Harley and spending quality time with his grandsons. John had a contagious smile that could light up a whole room and he will be greatly missed. He lived by the saying "It's a good day to ride!"

Funeral services will be held at Oak Lawn funeral home at 619 New Warrington Road Pensacola, FL 32506. A visitation with reception will be held on Thursday, July 4, 2013 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. A second visitation is scheduled for Friday July 5, 2013 from 11:30am until 12:30pm. The funeral service will begin at 12:30pm and then the procession to Barrancas National Cemetery will depart at 1:00pm. The interment at Barrancas will begin at 1:15pm. Following the interment a reception will be held at the AMVET'S located at 955 Dog Track Road Pensacola, FL beginning at 2:00pm.
