My condolences and thoughts go out to Joan and Rich and the rest of the Gollub family. I was blessed to have known the Gollubs when I was growing up in Philadelphia. We were next door neighbors and I came to see Dr. and Mrs. Gollub as a my second set of parents and Rich and Jordan as brothers.

I have fond memories of going on adventures with Dr. Gollub along with the four of us kids (Rich, Jordan, my brother, Rob, and I) . Whether it was taking the train to Center City, visiting the Franklin Institute, driving to New Hope for ice cream, picking apples, or searching for tadpoles in a quarry along a highway, it was always an occasion to savor. His enthusiasm for life and the delight he took in even the simplest things it has to offer continues to serve as an inspiration to me.

Though I'm deeply saddened by his passing, I will always smile whenever I think of him.
