Dear Kajkowski,
I am known to talk a great deal, but at this moment I honestly do not know what to say. I do know that my heart cries with you and my mind is also trying to comprehend why such things happen.
Ricky was in my first grade class and I am sitting here remembering his face and his special smile. I have two sons myself, one of which just came out of an apprenticeship in one of the trades as well. I remember the pride I had when he graduated. I remember being awed by the fact that my son was now a man. I cannot imagine losing him like you did.
The only words that I can find is that sometime down the road the stories of Ricky will eventually bring smiles instead of tears.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers will be with all of you. And I hope and pray that by taking each day one at a time you will be able to go on knowing that Ricky would want you to smile, not cry.

With love and prayers,
Mrs. Jackie O'Brien

To the Kajkowski family, friends and girlfriend...I remember Ricky from grade school at St. Tim's. He was always really nice to me, even though I often got made fun of in school. I could see how loved he was today and what a wonderful person he was through all of the touching things that people had to say about him today. He is in my prayers, as are your entire family. It was an honor to sing for his funeral. God bless. Sincerely, Vanessa Turchi

Dear Kajkowski Family,
Please know that my prayers are with all of you at this incredibly difficult time. I remember Ricky vividly as an unforgettable presence in my classroom back when he was in seventh grade. He was a good student, very respectful, and always seemed interested in learning. He was so well liked by all his teachers and fellow students. He had a personality that just made you enjoy being around him. I am glad that I had the chance to know Ricky. May God bless Him and keep him in his tender care.
