Dear Marjie,
I am your dad's friend in Deerfield Beach. Stan called me his surrogate daughter. We sat together in synagogue. I met you at your Mom's memorial service. I have tried and tried to contact your dad with no success. Also, your California cell number was disconnected. I kept riding by your dad's home and seeing his green car. The last time I spoke with Stan, he was fighting a terrible, itchy skin problem. He had several falls, but he always managed to patch himself up and keep on trucking. I tried to find out information on his whereabouts from people at the synagogue, but noone could tell me anything. It was as if your dad simply vanished. Today (November 21) I decided to google your dad. I found out this very sad news of October 24th. I feel so badly for you. Your dad was a very smart, funny, kind, and wise man. Recently, he often said that his days were numbered.
I offer you my heartfelt sympathy. I share your sorrow. I was friendly with both Lill and Stan and am aware of how wonderful and special they were. Stan always believed that Lill was with him all the time, including eating dinner with him every night and having conversations with Lill. Now they are together forever.
