THOMAS W., of Dresher, PA died Thursday, August 18, 2011, at the age of 59. He was born December 5, 1951 in Wyandotte, Michigan. He was raised in Michigan and California before moving with his family to Tokyo, Japan in 1962. He graduated from the American School in Japan in 1970, Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire in 1974, and received an MBA from the University of Chicago in 1978. He began his career at Touche Ross & Co., in Chicago, and became a Certified Public Accountant. He later worked for IC Industries, Pet Foods in St. Louis, and Whitman's Chocolates in Philadelphia. He joined Bell Atlantic Corp. in 1986, and retired from Verizon Capital Corp. in New York in 2010, after 24 years of service.
He was a member of Huntingdon Valley United Methodist Church for 26 years and served in various leadership roles. He was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan, and passionate about Dartmouth College, history, music, and his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Jane Fercho Ludlow, and his children Thomas W. Ludlow, Jr., Catherine A. Ludlow, Trevor Hillner, and Courtney Hillner-Ludlow. He is also survived by his sisters Julia Ludlow-Ortner (Robert), Norwalk, CT, Anne Ludlow (David Kuzara), Chelmsford, MA, and Katherine Ludlow Callahan (Thomas), Stamford, CT., his wife's parents, Dr. Calvin and Doris Fercho, Fargo, ND, his aunt, Anne Ludlow Kinney, and beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Lewis Morris Ludlow, Jr., and Hester McAdoo Ludlow.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, August 22nd, from 7 to 9 P.M. and Tuesday from 9 to 10 A.M., followed by the Funeral Service at 10 A.M. at Huntingdon Valley United Methodist Church, 3470 Huntingdon Pike, Huntingdon Valley, PA. Interment will follow. Memorial gifts may be sent in his name to the above-named church, Habitat for Humanity, 1829 N. 19th St., Philadelphia, PA 19121
