I had a warm friendship with Harry during our college years at Penn State.
Harry was a delightful, very intelligent fellow with a great sense of humor. God rest his soul in peace. Bart

You never said I'm leaving
You never said goodbye
You were gone before I knew you,
And only God knew why
A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried
If Love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.
In my heart you hold a place,
That no one could ever fill.
You never knew me, nor did I know you..
but a sadness has come over me...knowing I never will.

Harry, you were the best!
I'll never forget running into you at Elan, the ol' disco in the Warwick Hotel in the late 70's. I'll never forget your laugh when I said to you... Harry, you're my hero. Can I smell your fingers? Rest in Peace Harry.

Please accept my heart felt prayers and thoughts of sympathy to the Katz family. The original of originals, the man every guy wanted to emulate. Please do not judge a man by his setbacks, but rather by the charisma he fueled to others like me who are not perfect, not infallible, but living life of fullest potential. When I lived in East Falls, I drove by School House Lane and honked my horn to Mr. Katz and asked " How are the ladies treating you?' He raised a thumbs up to me. He didn't know me from any one. Every man who is a man should strive like Harry Jay Katz, me included. How else can you be your own person if you don't chart your own course like Harry Jay Katz did. Mr. Katz showed me the way, he didn't tell me the way to a life of greatness and just having the time of a lifetime. I Thank You for leading the way to inspire me. Sto Lat as they say in Polish. May you last 100 years! Rest in Peace and maybe. just maybe , someone will carry the mantel of your leadership.

Rest in peace Harry. Still sad that you closed and bulldozed the Erlanger Theatre, but it is what it is......

I have never met Harry Jay Katz. I do know his daughter and my family has had the honor of meeting not only my sister in law, but her family including her brother David. Though I do not wish to portend that I knew Mr. Katz on any level, I do want to express the love and respect I have for his children and extended family during their time of loss. May their worlds find the peace they seek during these trying times.
