We are at the eve of Rosh Hashanah. The family here in Israel has gathered for the traditional festive dinner. This is also the time when we think about the distant branches of the family and try to get in touch with them. After Ruth's untimely death, I have tried several times to call Jerry, even leaving messages to the answering service, still with the voice of Ruth. Tonight my call's response was of a disconnected line. Searching the internet, I received with sorrow the obituary notification. My wife Zahava and I keep found memories of our encounters in Philadelphia and New York. I also remember a common visit with Jerry in Paris when we were both in our early twenties, our heated discussions about art as we examined paintings and sculptures in the museums and galleries, and his enlightening explanation of the architectural marvel of the Place des Vosges.
Jerry will remain in our thoughts.
Marcel Fuchs, the son of Helene Steingisser, the sister of Shari, the mother of Jerry.

On this Eve of Rosh Hashanah the family gathered for the traditional festive dinner an opportunity to think about the far away branches of the family. After the untimely death of Ruth, I tried several times to call Jerry, but without success, leaving messages to the answering service still hearing the voice of Ruth. To night my call's response was that the line was disconnected. Searching the internet I discovered with sorrow that Jerry had passed away. My wife Zahava and I keep found memories of our few encounters over the years with Ruth and Jerry during visits in Philadelphia and New York. I also remember a common visit in Paris when we were in our early twenties, our heated discussions about art and his enlightening explanation of the architectural marvels of Place des Vosges.
We will remember Jerry.
