John Tatarian Obituary

TATARIAN
JOHN V., of Haverford, PA and Long Beach Island, NJ, died on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004 at the age of 80. A leader in the local business community, Mr. Tatarian was founder and President of Tatarian Builders, Inc. Mr. Tatarian is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 57 years, Araxy (nee Morjigian) Tatarian. He is also survived by his goddaughter, Camille L. Bedrosian, M.D. and 3 nieces, 4 nephews, grandnieces and nephews and his beloved dog 'daughter Sacha'. Mr. Tatarian was a veteran of World War II, serving honorably in the Air Force in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Tatarian attended the University of Michigan and presided over the growth of his company, Tatarian Builders, Inc., for over 55 years. He was the founder and former President of the Haverford Township Rotary Club. Mr. Tatarian was also a boating enthusiast, over a 50 year period enjoying his boats (Araxy I - IV) and his summer home on Long Beach Island. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a compassionate and giving person. The Viewing will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 26th at 11 A.M. at St. Gregory The Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church, 8701 Ridge Ave., Phila., PA 19128. Funeral Services will commence at 12 noon at St. Gregory's. A private interment will follow at West Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made in Mr. Tatarian's memory to St. Gregory's Church.
