As a "Square" extra in the movie "Cry Baby" back in 1989 I remember when I first saw her in costume I thought "Wow now SHE's an ORIGINAL." She carried that film, and that speaks volumes. How sad I didn't get to know her here in Austin. RIP.

My Father, Norman Alden, worked with Susan in the film I Never Promised You a Rose Garden. My father died Friday and while looking at his obituary in the Hollywood Reporter I saw that Susan had died recently also. She was such a great talent. I remember watching her in Rose Garden when I was a little girl. I was so moved by her performance. As an adult I enjoyed her in many other roles including Cry Baby.
