Norfolk - Barbara Williams "Bobbie" Barr, 83, wife of the late William G. Barr and a resident of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014. Born on June 26, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Charles Y. Williams and the late Nell Matlock Williams. Barbara was an active member of Bayview United Church of Christ in Norfolk and also a member and dancer of the Tap and Jazz Club of Lakewood Parks and Recreation for over 25 years. She was a majorette in the very first Oyster Bowl Game in 1946 when she attended Granby High School. As a teenager, she used to sing live on the Joe Brown Radio Gang. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Terry Johnson and her husband Julien of Suffolk, VA; a son, Jeffrey W. Barr of Virginia Beach, VA; 5 grandchildren, William and his wife Jemma, Samuel and his companion Crystal, Emily, Beth, Robyn and her husband Nathan; a great grandson, Oliver; special nephews and nieces, David Lewis and his wife Judy, Greg Lewis and his wife Anne, Linda Ball and her husband Prentis, Karen Labonte; special grandnephews, Michael Lewis and his wife Ann, Dan Lewis and his wife Marcie, Glenn Lewis and his wife Sally, Mark Lewis and his wife Erica; and very special dear friends, Jeffrey Guerrero, Nora Boone and Shonda Boone. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Charles "Jerry" Williams, John "Jack" Williams and a sister, Martha Sue Wells. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 1, at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home with Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
