Edward P. Haney
Bonita Springs, FL - Edward Patrick Haney, 73, of Flowerstone Court passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Edward was retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service and Lockheed Martin as a Program Manager of the SURTASS Program. He was of Catholic faith, Life Member and Fellow of the Loyal Order of the Moose 1454, Past Governor of the Loyal Order of the Moose (Bermuda 1657), Life Member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 4002, Life Member of the VFW Post 4254, Life Member at Large of the Military Officer Association of America, Member of the American Legion Post 0280 and a member of the Integrated Undersea Surveillance System Alumni Association.
He is survived by a sister, Joanne Marturano of Spring Grove, IL; a brother, Patrick Haney (Linda) of Port Aransas, TX; two daughters, Pamela L. Barth (Chuck) and April M. Wommack (Scott) of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, Christopher L. Barth (Lisa) of Moyock, NC, Nicholas C. Barth of Virginia Beach, E. Jordan Wommack of Virginia Beach; three great-grandchildren, Caden, Callie and Lathan Barth, all of Moyock, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia A. Haney.
The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel on Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 18, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at 12 p.m. Friday at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mooseheart Children's Home in Batavia, Il. Knew Ed since 1960. We were together on San Salvador. Both from Illinois. Ed was at my wedding in 1961 53 years is a long time friendship. RIP old friend.
