Lloyd L. Taylor, Sr.

Norfolk - Lloyd L. Taylor, Sr., 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in his home.

Born in Aulander, NC, he was the son of the late Daniel and Carrie Taylor. He was preceded in death by his wife and the love of his life, Lois S. Taylor. He served in the 29th Division of the Virginia National Guard and was the owner of Taylor's Appliance and Heating Co. for 65 years. He was an Elder of Oakdale Presbyterian Church and a former member of the International Order of Odd Fellows.

Left to cherish Lloyd's memory are seven children, Debra Eller and Jerry Murphy of Norfolk, Walter G. Taylor of Norfolk, Brenda Taylor Askew of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Michael D. Taylor and wife Lori of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Douglas D. Duncan and wife Ellie of El Cajon, CA, Lloyd Lee Taylor, Jr. of Norfolk and Lawrence C. Taylor and wife Darlene of Va. Beach; thirteen grandchildren, Jason Eller and wife Erin, Michael Murphy, Casey Askew, Preston Askew, Chance Ferguson, Chad Taylor, Danny, David and Dana Murphy, Kelly and Wendy Duncan, Evan and Corinne Taylor; and two great-grandchildren, Amelia Eller and Cade Ferguson. He is also survived by three sisters, Carrie May French, Geraldine Parker and Pauline Duff; a brother, Charlie Taylor; and sister-in-law, Doris VanGorder and many nieces and nephews.

Lloyd will be truly missed by all of his family, friends and neighbors. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregiver, Pat Myers and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 in the funeral home chapel by Rev. Dr. Dwight Webster, Sr. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Condolences may be offered to the family at:
