Catherine Savedge Schlesinger Obituary
Catherine Savedge Schlesinger of Williamsburg passed away peacefully Friday, January 11, 2019. Born September 20, 1944, she was a daughter of the late James N. Savedge and Fay B. Savedge. She was a graduate of Randolph Macon Women’s College and resided in Williamsburg, VA for 50 years. She worked for Colonial Williamsburg Foundation for many years and at Chippokes State Park. Catherine was active in APVA, especially researching Smith’s Fort Plantation in Surry. She contributed to Surry Historical Society and enjoyed assisting her mother in genealogical research. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas B. Schlesinger and a brother, James N. Savedge, Jr. Left to cherish her memory is her brother, William B. Savedge (Sarah) and his family of Wakefield, VA; step-children, Christopher W. Schlesinger and Susan B. Schlesinger of Boston, MA, and a niece, Ann S. Mayes (Michael) and family of Murfreesboro, TN.A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 14, 2019 at Wakefield Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Riggs officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a . R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel is serving the family. Condolences may be posted at www.rwbakerfh.com.
