E. Linwood "Jr." Kay Obituary
E. Linwood Kay, Jr., 91, of Norfolk, VA, passed away on January 10, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty W. Kay; his parents, Lois E. and Ernest L. Kay; and his sister, Edith K. James. He is survived by his son, James L. Kay (Roseanne); daughter, Jane K. Orr (Robin); granddaughter, Jessica O. Shawaluk (Andrew); grandson, Douglas J. Orr (Elizabeth); and three great-grandsons, Henry Shawaluk, Sullivan Orr, and Ian Shawaluk. Linwood was born in Portsmouth, Va., but lived most of his life in Norfolk. He married his Granby High School sweetheart, Betty, and they were together for over 65 years. He was a manager at Smith & Welton’s for many years. Listening to music, dancing, bowling, watching movies, and eating ice cream were some of his favorite activities. His family and friends appreciated his great sense of humor and loving support; he will be greatly missed!The funeral service will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home on Tidewater Dr. in Norfolk on Monday the 14th at 10:00 AM. Friends will be received Sunday the 13th from 6-8 PM, same location. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Wesley Grace United Methodist Church, 288 E. Little Creek Road, Norfolk, Va., 23505.
