Jacqueline Bell Gonyea
Chesapeake - Jacqueline "Jackie" Bell Gonyea, 80, of Shenandoah Parkway went home to be with the Lord May 22, 2013 with her family by her side. She was born in Saranac Lake, NY to the late Jesse and Elizabeth Bell. Jackie was a 1950 Graduate of Saranac Lake High School and later retired as a secretary with the Virginia Beach Public Schools and was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Florida.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John R. Gonyea; daughters, Deborah Gonyea Dupree (Chuck), Katherine Mary Bush (Chris); son, Timothy John Gonyea (Tammy); ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and two sisters.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, Chesapeake with Rev. Evelyn L. Lee. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 3 p.m. She will be laid to rest at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk on Thursday, May 30, 2013. In lieu of flowers the family ask memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at www.lls.org/waystohelp. Jack, Debbie, Timmy, Kath and all of your families; I too will celebrate the life of Jackie tomorrow. I have so many memories of staying with you in Lima. You were my second family and Jackie was like my second mom. I cherish all those wonderful memories. My prayers are with all of you!
