John R. Langlois, Sr.

Virginia Beach - John R. "Jack" Langlois, Sr., departed this life at 95 yrs., after a brief hospital stay, on September 8, 2018, surrounded by his children. He joins his loving wife, Marie Annunziata Langlois.

Jack was born in Alabama and was the son of the late Henry and Lulan Rhodes Langlois. He was predeceased by his brothers, Clement, Francis, James and Carl and his sisters, Helene, Joan and his twin, Kitty, as well as his son-in-law, Brian J. Sherry.

Leaving Alabama and moving to Norfolk, VA for work at NARF, our dad entertained and sang at many local events, including a live radio show on WRVC.

Jack and Marie met and married and raised their seven children in Virginia Beach. They were founding members of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Jack is survived by his daughters , Camella Pulliam (Steve), Teresa Davis (Roland), Kathryn Danner (Wayne), Paulette Culp (Jamie), Annette Sherry, Christine Santoni (Tom) and their son, John R. Langlois, Jr and 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and many extended family members.

The family wishes to thank all those who contributed to dad's care and helped keep him smiling, laughing and singing. We will all miss his subtle humor, wonderful songs and faithful examples of life.

A celebration of Jack's life will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7800 Halprin Drive, Norfolk, VA on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. Visitation will be from 5pm-6pm: Rosary from 6pm until 6:30pm: Mass at 6:30pm with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Private interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Pius X School at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Norfolk Chapel is handling arrangements and online condolences may be offered to the family at

My deepest condolences to the Langlois family. My daddy, Lewis "Red" Cahoon, worked with Jack Langlois at LP-20 at Naval Air Rework Facility for many years and I remember how much Daddy valued Jack's friendship. Daddy used to tell me about his big family (I am an only child). If I recall correctly, he even used to bring me back souvenir gifts when he took his family on vacation trips all over the USA. You are truly blessed to have had such a wonderful man in your lives and he lived to be 95 yrs old! May your memories give you comfort at this sad time. May he rest in peace. Maybe he and Daddy are "shooting the breeze" together up in Heaven and enjoying a cup of coffee!

You are in our thoughts & prayers Kathy.

While the loss of a parent is never an easy thing, I hope you and your family know what joy you brought to him, and find comfort in knowing he lived a full life with you all by his side.

I remember when your parents were visiting Brian and Annette. I came out in a sexy apron and offered your Dad a drink. He laughed so hard. I'm not sure if it was out of embarrassment or if he just felt sorry for me! Your Dad was a great man. I was always in awe of what a great job they did bringing all of you guys up, so caring and thoughtful! Jimmy and I are so sorry for your loss❤
