Kirk Turner

Chesapeake - Kirk Turner, 57, of Chesapeake, went to be with the Lord, Friday, October 31, 2014.

Kirk was a 1976 graduate of Kempsville High School. Professionally, Kirk began his career at MMM Design Group and currently worked at General Dynamics as a Designer. He will be remembered for his passion for bicycling, surfing, snowboarding, white water canoeing, camping and most outdoor activities. A man of strong faith, he attended River Oak Church, Chesapeake.

Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Jennifer Greer Hurley; children, Beau Turner, Kris Turner and wife Shirley and Kimrah Turner; his fiancé, Susan Koon; three grandchildren, Dylan, Callum and Scarlett; his K-9 companion, Gidget.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Crossroads Community Church, 2109 Centerville Turnpike, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Bicycle Federation.
