Melody Ann Pearce-Macey Obituary
Melody Ann Pearce-Macey
Portsmouth - Melody Ann Pearce-Macey, at the young age of 51, peacefully left our earth on Aug. 13, 2013 from a lengthy battle of non-smokers lung cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harriett and Jessie Pearce; uncle, James Harris; and also grandparents, Mary and Milton Pearce. Her pet cocker spaniel, Teddy, will also be greeting her alongside her loving family.
Her beautiful heart will be remembered by all who knew her, especially her close family. She will be watching over her favorite only daughter, Jordan Macey; number one niece, Malia Pearce, and number two niece, Jessica Pearce and their children; great-nephew, Landon James Fletcher; and great-niece, Leila Grace Sendling. Her older sister and brother, Joan Lambrecht and Tony Pearce, will hold her in their thoughts until one day they meet again.
Melody was truly loved by so many, especially those who were there by her side until the very end. A big "word up" goes to her close friends (in no particular order), Laurel, Deborah, Joanne, Gaye, Paula, Virgie, Vernice, Terri, Dorenna, Tammy, Ervin, Gayle, Theresa, and Charlotte, who cared for her during the tribulations of her disease along with many others, and will remain to be her angels here on earth. A special thanks to the Richards and Foster families for all of their love, help and support. In her many years at FINCIN, she has touched so many people and her partners in crime will miss her darling laugh and stunning smile. "When she walked into a room she truly lit it up," beautifully said by her brother Tony. Her personality was one like no other. We're sure when she walks into heaven, her first words will be "The fun has arrived: Now where is the wine?" Melody was an outstanding woman. She had strength and courage and was never without a smile. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A viewing will be held on Friday, Aug. 16, from 6-8 PM at Sturtevant Funeral Home, 5201 Portsmouth Blvd. Her celebration of life will be at 11 AM Saturday in Pinecrest Baptist Church, 209 Felton Road. Please join us in remembering this beautiful, special, amazing and strong woman. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com
