Robert Jackson Obituary

Lt. Robert W. Jackson

Chesapeake - Lt. Robert W. Jackson, USCG (RET), 82, went to be with his Savior, January 1, 2015.

Lt. Jackson was retired from the U.S. Coast Guard where he was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Nadene; sons, Robert Jackson, Jr. and wife Laura, George Jackson; daughters, Sharon Jackson, Patty Hayes and husband Steve; a foster son, Lawrence "Buddy" Jackson; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2015 at Great Hope Baptist Church, 1401 Battlefield Blvd., South, Chesapeake. Pastors John Godfrey and Reggie Parker will officiate. The interment with Military Honors will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Great Hope Baptist Church Military Fund.

You have my deepest condolences.

We remember sitting on the soccer field next to each other watching the boys play soccer and then basketball. They were good times. He was a wonderful, kind gentleman and will be missed by anyone who met him. The family are in our thoughts and prayers.
