S.L. Rhyne
Chesapeake - S.L. (Sam) Rhyne,84, went to be the Lord on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and the Golden Rule Class. Sam was a Naval veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Portsmouth 100 Masonic Lodge. He was predeceased by his wife, Rosalie Rhyne and his brothers, George Rhyne, Gerald Rhyne and Alan Rhyne.
He is survived by his son, Scott L. Rhyne and his wife, Teresa; daughter, Agnes Ann Moore; grandchildren, Rebekah Lynn Rhyne, Amanda Grace Rhyne, Robert Westfall and wife, Michele, Alan James Moore and wife, Michelle and Pamela Westfall; great-grandchildren Matthew Westfall, Megan Anas and husband Eric, Zachary Westfall, Kyle Westfall, Jayla Moore and Brayden Moore; sister Ruth Reese and husband, Joe; numerous nieces and nephews and his dear friend Edwina Nichter.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 14 in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel from 7-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 15 at 11:00 a.m. in Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 4320 Bruce Rd, Chesapeake with Masonic Rites and Military Honors. The family suggest memorial contributions to Aldersgate United Methodist Church or to Portsmouth 100 Masonic Lodge. Online condolences may be made at www.lovingfuneralhome.com.
