Mary Cheleast Black VIRGINIA BEACH - Mary Cheleast Black, 72, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, in her home. She was a retired beautician and was Baptist. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Lowell Bray, and is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles K. Black; three sons, Charles Steven Black, Robert G. Black and companion Sharon Powers, all of Hampton and Thomas Larry Black and wife Janet of Smithfield; grandson, Charles Brandon Black; mother, Pauline Bray of Batesville, Ark.; sister, Janece More and husband Jack of Lonoke, Ark.; brother, Jimmy Bray and wife LaDene of Batesville; and very special friends, Sandra Morris and Jeannie Yarborough. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mary's doctors: Dr. Mark Sinesi, Dr. Michael Steinberg and the staff at Virginia Oncology for tending to her needs and making her as comfortable as possible. She will be missed. The visitation will be held at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Maestas Chapel, 1801 Baltic Ave., Virginia Beach, today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A funeral will be conducted by the Rev.
