Tom is the former owner of Thermo Trol Corp, a commercial heating and air business that he successfully operated for over 35 years. His love of life also stretched out to the sea where he spent many years as Captain of his fishing vessel, the "Tom Cat", berthed at the Fisherman's Wharf and always at the top of the leader boards in the local fishing tournaments. Tom enjoyed cruising the turquoise waters of Florida and the Bahamas with his wife, Joyce, every winter. His passion for life and his fun spirit was contagious not only to his family, but to all that knew him.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Maynard Shotton; his brother John Clark Shotton and his wife, Spotswood of Breckenridge, CO; his son, David Thomas Shotton and his wife, Tricia and their son, Jack of Virginia Beach; and his son, Mark Demille Shotton and his sons, Noah and Merick of Encintas, CA.
