Dover, NC - Martha Jean Newbern July 08, 1942 - August 1, 2014

Martha Jean Newbern of Dover, N.C. went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Bayview Nursing & Rehab. in New Bern, N.C.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one brother Benjamin P. Myrick (Sharon), of Florida and one sister Ann M. Simpson, special brother- in - law David, of Dover, N.C., three nieces; Rhonda A. Hughes ( Jim), Deborah Johnston and Sandra Johnson (Chris), of Georgia and one nephew, Christopher Myrick, (Beth) of Georgia, eleven great nieces and nephews and numerous great-great nieces and nephews and her extended family at Asbury United Methodist Church, and Wintergreen OFW Baptist Church.

Memorial service will be Monday, August 4, at 4 P.M. at Asbury United Methodist Church with Dr. Neal Cox, Reverend Ashley Trogdon, and Reverend Debbie Matthis officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church and other times at the home of her sister Ann Simpson.

The family wishes that memorial donations be made to Asbury United Methodist Church Benevolence Fund, 550 Asbury Road, Cove City, N.C. 28523 or Wintergreen OFW Baptist Church, 2175 Wintergreen Road, Cove City, N.C. 2852
