Moyra Hendrick Carreiro Obituary
Moyra Hendrick Carreiro
Norfolk - Moyra Hendrick Carreiro, 88, our mother, nanna and friend passed away on February 20, 2013. Born on July 4th in London, England mom met her first husband Jack Hendrick during WWII and moved to America in 1946. They shared over 35 years together. She and her second husband, Edward Carreiro enjoyed 10 years together before his passing. Mom lived a quiet life with grace and dignity as a devoted wife, mother, nanna and friend. She proudly worked for many years for the Dragas Company where she met life long friends Joyce and Jackie.
Mom was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack and Ed; parents, Albert and Frances Seth and her brother, Albert and his wife, Elisabeth Seth. Left with cherished memories are her daughters, Moyra Lee Babb and Sharon Jane Hendrick; granddaughter, Michelle and husband, Bill Moore; grandson, Mike Babb; and her four great grandchildren, Elisabeth, Catherine, Caitlin and Connor. Niece, Elisabeth Jane and husband, John Newman; and nephew Mark Seth all of London, England. Mom also held a special place in her heart for her "adopted" daughter, Mary, her "Sutton Girls" and the extended Carreiro family.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27 at First Presbyterian Church on Colonial Ave. Norfolk. Because of her love for her four legged grandchildren expressions of sympathy may be sent to the Friends of Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center at P.O. Box 11403, Norfolk, Virginia 23517. The family extends heartfelt gratitude for the loving care provided our mother by Dr. Michael Camp and his staff, Lake Taylor Transitional Center and the many outstanding nurses and care providers at Norfolk and Leigh Sentara Hospitals. H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made through www.hdoliver.com.
