I was so sorry to hear the news of Corky's death. I first met Corky a week or so before my senior year of high school. I had just moved to the area and was not looking forward to being the new kid at school. Corky was so friendly and welcoming. Everytime he saw me in the halls, he smiled and made me feel like I was one of the gang. It is not surprising that he chose his life's work to be in the service of others. He was a fun loving, people loving person and he will be missed. I'm sure he is dancing in heaven now.

Even though I cannot bear the thought of Corky not being in this world any more, I can see him on those streets of gold, too, but I see him dancing down them. I knew him in high school and we worked for a summer or two at Farm Fresh Grocery Store in Arrowhead in Virginia Beach. To say he was awesome in every way I knew him only begins to touch on the person he was/is. I always thought I would see him again, but now I guess that will be in Heaven. God Bless you, Corky, and all who loved you. Suzanne

Dear Fulkerson Family, I went to school and graduated with Corkey at Kempsville High School. Corkey escorted me to our homecoming in 1977. He was a true gentleman and a very kind and compassionate soul. We celebrate our 35 year from being out of high school this year and I am sure we will all have Corkey on our hearts and mind. I don't know of anyone who did not consider them selves blessed to have known Corkey and had him in our lives. He will forever live on as a 1978 Kempsville High School Chief.

Our love and prayers to you, Ryan, and Tyler. We will always remember Corky as the smiling gentleman in the obituary picture. Life has dealt you a lot of bumps, hills, mountains; but you will continue to trust God and know you will come out on top. Happy Day. Stay strong. Love to you and yours, Uncle Tom and Aunt Nona.

Linda, you and Ryan are in our prayers. We cannot adequately express how much comfort and encouragement we felt from Allen's weekly visits to Gloria when she was in the hospital after suffering a stroke 2 1/2 years ago. Even though it has been that long it still made a lasting impression on us both. Allen will be greatly missed.
