Ann M. Strickler

Franklin - Ann McFarland Strickler, 76, of Franklin went to be with our Lord on May 26, 2016. A native of Fieldale, VA, Ann was the daughter of the late William H. and Lessie Satterfield McFarland, and a sister to the late Josephine Joyce. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Ann is survived by her husband of 54years, Elbert (Al) Carroll Strickler, son Steve A. Strickler and his wife, Bertie, grandson Alan; brother William Bobbie McFarland; nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.

She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church. She taught school for several years but then moved to her passion of painting beautiful pictures and won many awards. She was the founding chairman of the Blackwater Artists' League.

The service will be at High Street United Methodist Church on Camp Parkway, Courtland, at 2 PM on Sunday, May 29. Burial will be private. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 PM before the service.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the American Cancer Society. www.wrightfuneralhome.org

Such a beautiful person. Ann inspired so many people. Ann lifted my spirit and through her encouragement, positively affected my life. She was devoted to her family and respected in the art community for sharing her talents with others. I am sorry for your loss.
