MCPO Donald M. Grant, USN (Ret.), 91, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away January 29, 2019.Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Terrence and Bernice O’Day. He retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer submariner from the U. S. Navy. He was a member of London Bridge Baptist Church where he was a deacon of the church and taught Sunday school to 5 year olds for 20 years.Donald was preceded in death by his daughter, Helen Kiser. Left to cherish his memory: his wife, Norma S. Grant; two daughters, Gail Lawhorn and husband, Eddie, of Virginia Beach and Donna Albright and husband, Skip, of Conway, SC; two sons, David Grant and Mark Grant, both of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, Bridget Hopwood, Shawna Lawhorn, and Christopher Grant; and two great-grandchildren, William and Joshua Hopwood.The family will receive friends at London Bridge Baptist Church on Friday, Feb. 1, from 10 to 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the church sanctuary at 11 a.m. followed by the committal at Princess Anne Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Hollomon-Brown, Great Neck Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be offered to the family at:
