Michael Ruckle Obituary

Michael W. Ruckle, age 68, of Virginia Beach, passed on Saturday March 21, 2020 after an extended battle with liver cancer. Mike was born in Chesapeake, VA and was preceded in death by his beloved wife Debbie Ruckle, parents Philip & Mary Ruckle. He is survived by siblings Philip S. Ruckle Jr.(Pat) of Manteo, NC, Phyllis R Earley of Poquoson, and Jeffery L. Ruckle of Port Orchard, WA, 6 nieces and nephews, and a dozen great nieces and nephews.

Mike was a graduate of Great Bridge HS, and served in the US Army. Following his service to his country he worked in construction before founding his own company, Level Best. At the time of his death he was also employed by B&T Kitchen and Baths. Those who knew Mike will miss his humor, and quiet, caring demeanor. In addition to family, he will be missed by all of the women who were helping run his life!

The family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff at Sentera Hospice House in VA Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Sentera Hospice. Graveside service arrangements in May are pending.

Precious memories of Mike will always warm our hearts. We miss his stories about the lessons he learned from his father, how much he loved his dear wife, the photos he constantly shared of his dogs. What a kind, sweet soul. It was a great gift to know him.

Phillip, please accept my condolences. Though I had not seen Michael for many years, I remember him as a fun band member to be around.

There arent enough words to describe the man who Michael was - he always told me his job and purpose in life was to make people smile and laugh, and he did! If you needed anything he was in his car before you even hung up the phone. He was a friend, he was family, he was loved. He was a blessing to the lives who knew him and will he missed beyond measure!

Mike, and Phillip, were classmates of mine at Great Bridge from 1st grade through graduation. My earliest memory of Mike was his taking the time, in the first grade, to teach me how to tie my shoes. His brother Phillip was an exceptional track star. So sorry for your loss Phillip.

So sorry for the loss of Mike. We were neighbors of his in the same community and he had been at our home many times. He was such a kind and generous person and we always enjoyed his company. He helped us out greatly when our neighborhood flooded and we will always be grateful for his help and all the work he did for us.

Mike recently helped me with the renovation of my bathroom done with B&T kitchens and bath. Mike made many trips to my home and called me daily to make sure the project was timely and met with my approval. Once the work was completed, I found myself missing those calls and visits. Mike never mentioned his illness and I am so very sorry he is gone. I know he will be greatly missed by those who knew him well
