John Roy Bonds Sr.

John Roy Bonds, Sr., 71, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on April 8, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer.

Born in South Carolina, he was the son of the late Clarence and Marie Bonds. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy and retired from civil service as a Flight Line Supervisor at NAS Oceana. He was a long-time member of the Suffolk Golf Course and avid fan of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. Most importantly he was a dedicated family man who cherished every moment spent with them.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, JoEtta Bonds and siblings William Bonds, Rachel Clawson and Clarence Hobson.

Left to cherish his memory: his wife, Amy Bonds; daughter, Tracy Dove and husband, Aaron; son, John Bonds, Jr., and wife, Myiah; step daughter Kathleen Harper and husband, Chris; and step daughter Casey Elliott; two brothers, Joe Bonds and Lloyd Bonds; and grandchildren, Alexis, Colby, Kaydence, Anabel, Kyleigh, Jax, and Jolie; along with many other family and friends.
